nice details, great story 5 out of 5 (JS)
I am a fan of Simon but having enjoyed his previous books, this one is
let down by the absence of any proof reading. This may appear to be a
minor consideration, but sadly silly mistakes detract from the
enjoyment of his tale. 4 out of 5 (Drayman)
The Young Women Of St. Evals
When her lover, the rich and powerful Damien Bentley, invited his pretty PA Sally Tyndall to spend a secret weekend with him in the obscure English village of St Evals, which appeared on no map, she thought her dreams had come true. She did not know how quickly they would turn into a living nightmare.
She discovered to her horror that St Evals was like no other village in the county. Here masterful men and women could flaunt their naked, collared and harnessed slaves in public and the locals took no notice. Slave girls were put in public pillories and made to suffer sex and abuse or else compelled to serve as living pub signs and it was seen as perfectly normal.
And this was the role Damien wanted Sally to play, and out of hopeless love she agreed. But as the week went on it became harder to satisfy his demands. Just what did Damien really want from her? Why was he going out of his way to humiliate and degrade her? And would she ever be able to leave St Evals again?
